Powerful companies are destroying the 140 million year old rainforests of Borneo for personal profit.
The rainforests are being cut at a rapid rate, 56% of protected lowland tropical rainforests were cut down between 1985 and 2001, with the trend increasing.
This is driving the indigenous tribes of Borneo out of the forest, forcing them away from their hunter-gatherer lifestyle.
There are still areas of rainforest where small tribes still live.
These areas like all rainforests are rich n biodiversity. Home to over 1,500 plan species.
Home to over 3000 species of trees.
Home to 221 species of terrestrial mammals. Home to over 400 species of birds.
